Al principio, no tenía planeado hacer una celebración especial, aunque siempre agradezco a Dios la dicha de ser madre y tener hijos tan maravillosos. Normalmente, en cada festejo familiar, suelo comprar o preparar una torta.
Sin embargo, esta vez fue diferente. Se me antojaba mucho una torta, pero como estoy tratando de moderar mi consumo de dulces, preferí no hacerla. El día estuvo pasado por agua, con fuertes lluvias, y cuando el clima mejoró, mi hermano y yo nos dimos cuenta de que se nos había ido el día entero sin celebrar.
Hello everyone, friends of Hive! I welcome you to my blog. I'm Yeli Marín @yelimarin and today I want to share with you how I lived the night of Mother's Day this year 2025 with my loved ones.
At first, I didn't plan to have a special celebration, although I always thank God for the joy of being a mother and having such wonderful children. Normally, in every family celebration, I usually buy or prepare a cake.
However, this time was different. I was really craving a cake, but since I am trying to moderate my consumption of sweets, I preferred not to make one. The day was wet, with heavy rains, and when the weather improved, my brother and I realized that we had gone the whole day without celebrating.
Así que, siendo domingo por la noche, las opciones eran limitadas. Yo tenía ganas de pizza, mis hijos de perros calientes y mi hermano quería cocinar algo en casa. Con tantas ideas distintas, decidimos someterlo a votación familiar, y al final, los perros calientes se llevaron la mayoría.
Y la verdad, no fue una mala elección. Tenía tiempo sin comer perros calientes por el tema del peso, pero reflexioné y sé que una dieta demasiado estricta no sería sostenible para mí, así que me permití disfrutar.
De nada sirve privarme por completo de las cosas que me gustan; simplemente debo evitar consumirlas a diario. Mi progreso con el peso ha sido positivo y no quiero echar a perder tantas horas de esfuerzo en el gimnasio. Así que, ¡a disfrutar se ha dicho!
So, being Sunday night, the choices were limited. I was in the mood for pizza, my kids were in the mood for hot dogs, and my brother wanted to cook something at home. With so many different ideas, we decided to put it to a family vote, and in the end, hot dogs took the majority.
And truth be told, it wasn't a bad choice. I hadn't eaten hot dogs for a while because of the weight issue, but I reflected and I know that too strict a diet wouldn't be sustainable for me, so I allowed myself to enjoy.
There is no point in completely depriving myself of the things I like; I just have to avoid consuming them on a daily basis. My progress with weight has been positive and I don't want to waste so many hours of effort in the gym. So, let's enjoy it!
Fuimos a comer cerca de casa. Por esa zona, en las noches se instalan varios puestos de comida rápida y, como ya habíamos decidido que serían perros calientes, nos acomodamos en uno de ellos.
En esta ocasión, me acompañaron mi hermano, su esposa e hija, mi esposo y mis dos hijos pequeños. Compramos veinte perros calientes y comimos hasta quedar satisfechos. De regreso a casa, pensé que quizás me había excedido un poco, pero no me preocupé demasiado porque no es algo que hago habitualmente.
Este Día de las Madres decidí consentirme y me hice varios regalos. Siempre termino pensando en los demás, en la casa, y me olvido de mí, así que esta vez hice algo diferente y recibí varios detallitos que deseaba.
We went to eat close to home. In that area, in the evenings there are several fast food stands and, as we had already decided that it would be hot dogs, we settled in at one of them.
On this occasion, I was accompanied by my brother, his wife and daughter, my husband and my two small children. We bought twenty hot dogs and ate to our hearts' content. On the way home, I thought maybe I had overdone it a bit, but I didn't worry too much because it's not something I usually do.
This Mother's Day I decided to spoil myself and gave myself several gifts. I always end up thinking about others, about the house, and forget about myself, so this time I did something different and received several little gifts that I wanted.
Uno de los regalos que me di fueron tres faldas short ideales para entrenar. Tenía tiempo buscándolas y finalmente las compré por Mercado Libre y me las enviaron por Zoom. También aproveché para comprarme una hermosa cafetera programable.
Este fue un regalo inesperado, pero que me ha resultado muy útil y luce genial en mi cocina. La recibí de mi esposo, y aunque inicialmente fue un regalo que yo me hice, al final él me lo va a pagar, así que de alguna manera fue un obsequio suyo.
También me regalaron un termo rosado para llevar al gimnasio. Este termo me lo dio mi hijo Diego y me encantó al instante. Es de excelente calidad; mis hijos ya tenían uno igual y la verdad es que mantiene el frío durante todo el día, justo lo que necesitaba.
One of the gifts I gave myself were three short skirts ideal for training. I had been looking for them for a long time and finally I bought them through Mercado Libre and they were sent to me by Zoom. I also took the opportunity to buy a beautiful programmable coffee maker.
This was an unexpected gift, but it has been very useful and looks great in my kitchen. I received it from my husband, and although it was initially a gift I gave myself, in the end he is going to pay for it, so in a way it was a gift from him.
I also received a pink thermos to take to the gym. This thermos was given to me by my son Diego and I instantly loved it. It is of excellent quality; my children already had one like it and the truth is that it keeps the cold all day long, just what I needed.
Además, mi hermano me obsequió unos audífonos rosados con orejitas de gato para usar al entrenar, ¡me fascinan! Este año, los regalos estuvieron enfocados en mis actividades en el gimnasio y en disfrutar de un buen café. Los amé todos. El día terminó en compañía de mis seres queridos y realmente lo disfruté muchísimo. Gracias a Dios por un año más.
In addition, my brother gave me a pair of pink headphones with cat ears to use while training, I love them! This year, the gifts were focused on my activities at the gym and enjoying a good coffee. I loved them all. The day ended in the company of my loved ones and I really enjoyed it very much. Thank God for another year.
