Hey there my Hive friends and followers!

I´m sad to say my “Hive time” is still super scarce, usually limited to literally just a few minutes per day, mostly enough to just distribute some upvotes and comments here and there and to be honest with you, I don´t see this changing anytime soon. However, as some of you might now, me and my family finally got to travel a bit again a couple of weeks ago and the destination that we picked was so beautiful that it would be a real shame if I didn´t write anything about it. We visited Mauritius, a spectacular tropical island hidden in the crystal clear waters of the Indian Ocean.

Located some 2,000 km off the southeastern coast of Africa, quite close to Madagascar, Mauritius is a volcanic exotic island that can be definitely considered an epitome of tropical paradise. Closer to Australia than Europe, the journey to Mauritius from Czechia is quite exhausting though and if we don´t count a few little trips to Slovakia and Poland, our neighboring countries, it was actually the first real travel experience for our little daughter.

Traveling with such a little baby (Florecita was not even 1.5 yo when we went there) is just so much different and more challenging than traveling solo or in a couple but me and my wife eventually agreed that it was definitely worth all the inconveniences and complications because seeing our little bundle of joy play in the ocean for the first time ever and explore all the new exciting things so far from home was just priceless.

Naturally, our possibilities of exploring the island were reduced significantly so most of the time, we were just chilling in and around our hotel and the nearby beaches but we managed to take one full-day trip too that gave us at least a tiny idea of how beautiful and diverse Mauritius really is. I know we didn´t even scratch the surface when it comes to experiencing what the island has to offer but we still got to see some really nice beaches, mountains, waterfalls, nature reserves and some of the wildlife. We tasted local food and beer, watched spectacular sunsets on the beach and even visited a famous Hindu temple.

Our Mauritius vacation was short but I still took hundreds of pictures there. Before our daughter was born, maybe 99% of my photos didn´t capture any people but that changed and now, I mostly take pictures of her / us and this trip was no exception but I still have some shots that don´t have us in them and I would like to show you some of these :) I mean I would love to share photos of our lovely daughter with you but we decided to respect her privacy. I might also create some little collection of our family pictures from this trip where our faces are not visible or cover them with emojis but right now, I will just show you these 20 shots taken at the places described above. No particular order, just a little random sneak peek into what you can see on this charming African island :)

I don´t know when exactly I will find some time to post it but hopefully soon :) Thank you for stopping by my blog. As always, I will make sure to reply to all comments, it may just take a bit longer than usually. Thanks for your understanding.
