it has been a while since the last entry, and it feels weird to be back blogging to be honest. i found it quite hard to go back, it just feels a little weird. at this time that i am writing the entry, i am still at a loss for words. just sharing my current thought process here but let me tell you about the nightwalk in a bit. by the way, i jus found this picture so striking that it deserved to be the cover photo.
by now you have probably heard that i lost my mom last month. it was a bit of a shock but i am a bit fine now. i probably wont be the same as before, no one will ever be after any loss. but i am relatively fine now.
i am back in japan for a week now and just trying to readjust. here i am trying to be catch up with where i left off. for one i felt physically weaker after the long break, and i felt that specially in the gym. my previous routines were a tad bit difficult to do now. in fact i was in the gym yesterday for a leg workout and my legs were shaking halfway the routine.
the walk
and for some reason, i went back to nightwalking a day after the leg day. with the first nightwalk adventure after 4 weeks of break, it was just a matter of getting out and walking randomly to where my feet leads me. and since i was out, might as well take pictures to share to everyone as well.
i went back to that shrine famous for prosperity crates. it was deserted, no festivals scheduled at this time. but the arrays of prayer wooden blocks tell you how beloved this shrine is. still a pretty area.
even the streets leading away from that shrine were also pretty. leaves have grown at this season and it looked different from how i remembered the path: trees were pretty much bald or had sakura flowers the last time i was here.
now this shotengai or shopping street in english have always caught my attention every time i came across it. i finally got a snap of it at night. it is a perfect picture for @friendlymoose 's contest for this week with the theme leading lines. the shops in here were mostly closed for the day, which is good for me. if these were open then there would also be more people walking in this area.
here are the pagodas in the temple complex of sensoji. at least the first picture is a tall pagoda, a 5 layered one. the other picture is apparently also called a pagoda but this one is a small one. more like a statue tall structure, the second one was sculpted or rather formed from metals.
and here we are with inner and outer gates of the temple. the main temple was filled with tourists hogging the picturesque views. i just left off and went on with the walking. i can always return to the place and take pictures of the temple at another time.
for some reason, i loved taking pictures of deserted alleys. this one was a back alley of the ever famous shop road between the outer and inner gates of the temple. only a few people pass by this here and i loved the serenity it shows even for a short time.
it was already a long night, enough time to breathe fresh air and enough time to clear up my mind.
by the way, these two pictures above were also great photos for the leading lines contest. it was just not dramatic enough. but these these two were the first and last pictures taken this day. so i am leaving you with these two photos.
