A weekee-greeting to all Hivers!! It's been a really long time since I last posted, my apologies to all of you for my disappearance... Highschool demanded all my attention specially because these were the last months, but I have good news: I am finally over with exams and will start university on September! (currently thinking of making a post about the career I'm going to take).

Also, I want to mention that this is my first time on the Black and White community, I'm really excited to meet awesome photographers here, love the vibe! This is my entry to the #monomad daily challenge.

Back to topic! My parents and I decided to go to Varadero for some days to free our daily life stress and just relax. There we ate at restaurants, played 8-ball and mini-golf, and most importantly went to the beach. Summer hasn't arrived yet, so the water used to make us chill after minutes of swimming; we sticked to walk along the sand with our feet getting hit by the waves. We have visited Varadero many times, but never before we saw so many birds near the beach, and never saw pelicans staying really close to people as well.

I was amazed by their actual size and had a big urge to pet them (I want to pet everything I see) but got a little scared they could chase me or something thinking I was food. No joke, these animals try to eat everything, the fact that some things are bigger than them is the only reason that stops them from doing that. I saw one trying to "bite" a tourist's leg when he was passing by. It was so funny XD.

There were three males and three females. The males were behaving kind of dominant around each other and keeping an eye on each other's actions. They expanded their wings many times and started walking with elegance around to impress the girls or to show who was the boss.

But despite their magnificient effort the girls were really bored and decided to take some naps instead of watching them...

I kept on taking pictures when a seagull flew by and stayed in front of the sea just looking around. Probably wishing to be as big as these guys.

When I looked back at the pelicans I was creeped out by this guy's face. I never imagined them looking like that from the front. So scary and funny at the same time, right?

We left before having nightmares of that...

Anyways, it was really fun and I'm really happy with these photos. Read you on the next one :3!
